My Creative Time throwback Thursday Challenge

Here is a birthday card I made for Emma's Challenge over at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2012/05/throwback-thursday-early-stamp-release.html
Her challenge is to make a birthday card using a cricut cartridge that has balloons, birthday hats or birthday cakes. The deadline for this challenge is May 23rd. The prize is a cuttlebug, but I would rather win some of her new stamps! I love this release. It is totally cute. Join in on the fun if you get a chance. Anyways here is the card I made.
The cartridges I used were Birthday Bash for the card base. I cut it at 4 1/2 inches out of kraft cardstock from oriental trading company. The cake was cut at 2 3/4 inches from the simply charmed cartridge. I did not cut the layer 1 image that cuts out the face because I knew I wanted to use a new set of peachy keen stamps I bought from http://www.joann.com/scrapbooking/stamping/brand_peachy_keen/
I used PK-680 Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment in the 5/8th size. I used a white gel pen for the eyes and waterfall stickles for the irises of the eyes. I used pink chalk to highlight the cheeks.
All the patterned paper is from the doodlebug design 6x6 paper pack sugar & spice. I also used orange peel stickles for the flames. I covered the frosting cut in glossy accents and I inked around all the edges with creamy brown chalk ink. I attached the cake with foam adhesive. The sentiment stamp came from the Hero Arts set called this is big. I made the banner by just cutting a strip of patterned paper, stamping the sentiment, adhering that piece with foam adhesive than cutting two more tiny strips, notching the edges and adhering them to both sides of the sentiment directly to the card base. This was a fun and easy card to make and I am glad I got some mojo back. Thanks for stopping by and subscribing. I hope to post more often now. fingers crossed lol
